I was joining a very interesting patchwork project in www. Isetegija.net and started my first ever patchwork blanket of what I was telling a bit in my previous post.

For a little while now our son has learned to clime too well and reaches to take toothbrushes and toothpaste. So after I had cleaned the carpet again of toothpaste and figuring how to stop this the solution came… as I already had all these materials and sewing-machine out on the table I made a little pouch for them. Now everyone is happy, toothbrushes are enjoying great view from their high position on the wall, we can always find them in the morning and evening and I less cleaning for me.

So for my own interest I am tracking the steps I had to go through because it is my first patch work at all and maybe some day I would like to come back and remind something i did during the process.

At first I searched a picture from Internet I will try to copy to the blanket.

Then decided the size of the blanket, draw the characters and located them.

After that I looked out all old materials I could use. I started with cutting out the sheets which will be the base for everything and also a big yellow sun

Yesterday I worked on genie. Doesn’t look flawless but will see how will look at the end.

Four months have past so quickly and I had time for only studying and children. I took a little time, cut out some clouds and sew everything I had so far on the base. Sorry about the quality of the picture but I didn’t have time for ironing and make arrangements for better shot, my little “destroyer” came home and this means the end of sewing for today.

The pattern was easy and bolero was finished very quickly.

I used 400 g Soft Carnival 8ply yarn and hook 4. I made up the edges myself because the edges given in pattern was VERY time consuming and I am definitely not patient type of person. I must say that comparing to the pisture in magazine my bolero looks on me quite differently and this is because the different body types of me and the model but I love it anyway.

My girl came home from school and complained about the cool weather, after all, it is winter! So I had to knit fast so that my little girl’s legs wouldn’t be cold. Her favourite colour is purple, this made clear which yarn will be used. Needles 3,5 and some leftover wool yarn – 90 gr. Next time i’ll try to make them longer and  tighter.

One beautiful day (and it is always one when I have time to check new knitted-crocheted sites) I found from www. Isetegija.net cardigans disained by a very talented woman with username Koduperenaine. From her blog I found so many gorgeous knittings that I was amazed how good she is. She also offered some patterns and I wanted to try the red top. Running back from shop with Patons Smoothie DK (100% acrylic) yarn I started right away.

The pattern is very very simple to knit but yet most beautiful. It was finished quite quickly, of course, as I loved knitting it, I tried to use every free minute for it. Thank you Koduperenaine for sharing the pattern!!

At this stage my daughter tried the piece as a skirt and it was very pretty actually!

And ready! My favourite! the size is M, used 260 gr Patons Smoothie DK yarn, needles 3.5mm

This time the present for Mum. The mothers day is coming  and of course I want to make something with my own fingers for my special Mum.

This time it wasn’t too easy to think what the present should be. The biggest problem is my mother’s extremely practical nature, it left out a lot of things just for beauty like tablecloths and things like that. I decided to make a handbag and I hope she will like it.

I didn’t want to be late therefore I choose an easy pattern with cables. Used 150 g Patons Superwash (100% wool) yarn, needles 5mm.

The pattern is here. Yarn – 75 g of 100% acrylic Craftworks Acrylic Plain, needles 4mm and 5mm.

He is not happy at all. I guess it’s too warm yet to wear knitted stuff

I found a beautiful coloured cotton crochet thread NIKA I had bought long time ago and wanted to do something of it. There was only 75g of it and no possibility to purchase more, fortunately this was enough for my daughter’s bolero. I used the hook 1,5.
